In the month of January FRT facilitating the National Agriculture Content Development Committee (NACDC) meeting in Liwonde, in Machinga district, eastern Malawi. The meeting aimed at developing and validating messages for the 2019/2020 agricultural season, in line with the weather and climatic conditions. In attendance were district partners for the World Food Programme and agricultural officials from Balaka, Mangochi, Zomba, Blantyre, Phalombe and Chikwawa districts. The messages will be used in radio programmes and will be disseminated to smallholder farmers using various ICT platforms under the ‘Integrating Weather and Climate Adaptation in Radio Programming’ (IWCARP) project.
Group discussions were conducted during National Agriculture Content Development Committee (NACDC) meeting. Participants from both government departments and non-state actors were re-aligning content for radio programmes and mobile-based platforms based on the 2019/2020 seasonal weather forecast.
