Farm Radio Trust (FRT) is in Mangochi district this week, in eastern Malawi, where the farming communities there are being oriented on a new project known as ‘Upscaling Awareness and Outreach in Malawi’s Seed System (UAOMASS). Under this project, the farming communities are expected to raise their voices by reporting incidences of fake seed in their localities, through FRT’s digital platforms, such as the tailor-made interactive radio programmes, the Farmers’ Call Centre, and the SMS platforms.

The project is being implemented jointly with the Department of Agriculture Research Services (DARS), the Civil Society Agriculture Network (CISANET), and the Seed Traders Association of Malawi (STAM), with technical and financial support from the Alliance for Agriculture Revolution in Africa (AGRA).
