This week, we are in Mzimba North, where we are orienting the farming communities on Social Accountability in general, and on good seed and fake seed in particular. In collaboration with CISANET, STAM, and DARS, we are raising awareness and monitoring adherence to new seed regulations and policy by value chain actors, so as to ensure improved seed quality for the farming communities’ increased productivity, food security, and income at the household level.

Known as ‘Scaling Awareness and Outreach in Malawi’s Seed Sector,’ the project is being implemented in Mzimba North; Kasungu; Lilongwe Rural; Mangochi, and Blantyre Rural; with technical and financial support from the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA).
