The effects of climate change are indeed real. This is the reason why Farm Radio conducted a Formative Research in Phalombe district prior to the start of a project known as ‘Interactive Weather and Climate Adaptation Radio Programming’ (IWCARP). Last week we conducted a Formative Research for the project in Mkomera Village, in Tamani Extension Planning Area (EPA) in Traditional Authority Jenala’s area in Phalombe district in southern Malawi.
The team from Farm Radio Trust facilitated Focus Group Discussions with some community members that have been identified randomly. The participants discussed agricultural practices in their area, their radio listening preferences, ICT usage and stakeholders that are implementing various projects in the area, among other issues. The IWCARP project is being financially supported by the World Food Programme (WFP).
