Farm Radio Trust took part in the review meeting for the Participatory Integrated Climate Services for Agriculture (PICSA) approach. The review meeting has been organized by the World Vision International (WVI) for targeted agriculture officials and farmers from Chikwawa district, with financial support from the World Food Programme (WFP).

The PICSA approach involves agriculture extension staff working with groups of farmers ahead of the agricultural season to firstly analyze historical climate information from the Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services (DCCMS), and use participatory tools to develop and choose crop, livestock and livelihood options best suited to individual farmers’ circumstances.

The WVI and Farm Radio have partnered the WFP in implementing the climate resilience project in Chikwawa district where FRT is using digital-based platforms such as radio, the Farmers’ Call Centre, the SMS platform, the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) to disseminate climate-related agriculture information.
